Guest guest
It has been a while since I have needed this info, but I recall 's Hopkins had a good protocol. Along with: www.o-c-s.com/epilepsy/keto. I have also spoken with staff at the children's hosp of Philadelphia, Mattel children's hosp at UCLA division of pediatric neurology. Also a good resource is " the epilepsy diet treatment, an introduction to the kerogen if diet " Sent from my iPhone > > I need some " expert " advice. A friend needs to restart the Ketogenic Diet to bring back into control her child's constant seizures. They've been on the diet before with good results, but the child was rebelling because of boredom, so it was stopped for the past year. However, the seizures returned, even with multiple AED combos. As of yesterday, the doc wants them back on the keto diet; only 9 grams of carbs per day. Any ideas, suggested web sites? Of course, a search of eatright.org provided NOTHING! > > TIA > > Yoakam, MS,RD,LD > Consultant Dietitan Health Care Facilities > Illinois > >

Guest guest
We have an excellent chapter in our book Ped Nutr in Chron Dis and Dev Dis written by two neurologists and myself. It includes both the regular KD diet and the MCT diet (the latter one is more liberal). These are based on the Stanford Med Ctr and s Hopkins Diet for seizures. You may find it at a med library, at Oxford Univ Press, _www.oup.com/us_ (http://www.oup.com/us) promotion code 24095, or from me. We also have a 35 CPEU ADA approved self study to go with the book if interested. We published the self study. Just contact me at 513-4522-1403 or 549 tohatchi dr, cincinnati, oh, 45215 or _shirley.ekvall@..._ (mailto:shirley.ekvall@...) See attachment. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Nutricia labs have special pediatric products for ketogenic diets along with a recipe book here in Portugal. I don't know if they have any representatives in USA. Catia Borges, nutricinista Centro de Saúde Chaves 1 ARS Norte > > > I need some " expert " advice.
