Guest guest
Janet, I've had RA for 15 years. Initially I was given worthless gold treatments and then low dose Methotrexate. My dr finally did gene studies on me and found that I carry the HLA- DR4 gene marker for RA. There is NO known arthritis in my relatives, but he told me that someone, somewhere had RA. People with this gene marker are known to have the most aggressive form of the disease. It is one mean illness and after all of these years, he has finally found a treatment that gives me symptom-free RA. I take 15 mg MTX, injected, each week, 40 mg Humira every other week, and Plaquenil daily. The Humira was the true godsend, which I began in January. I've heard that pregnancy helps RA (temporarily) because of the huge burst of hormones which your body has. Your tiredness is from your pregnancy....a wonderful state to be in. Enjoy it, enjoy your little baby, and run, don't walk, to a good rheumatologist once you have recovered from childbirth. RA doesn't go away, but it sure helps if the symptoms are lessened and the disease is " modified " as MTX and Humira do. I am so thankful that I am tolerating Humira wonderfully and I hope that you do also. Good luck to you, Helen > > >> > > >> Hello, > > >> > > >> I was wondering if any of you have an aggressive > > type > > >> of RA.
