Good luck !!  The first visit is always scariest.  You never know just

what's going

to happen.  On my first trip I had to write stuff down so I'd remember

it.  LOL!  I still do

that, but blame it on all the drugs I'm on.    Let us know what happens!

Don't look at it in a negative way! It is a very good thing that you

are going. I am happy the day is tomorrow. Now you and your doctor can

begin to take control.

Don't forget to take any questions that you have with you. Believe me,

if you don't write things down, you will forget some of them. If you

have not already make a list and while doing it, think of all of you

aches, pains, fatigue, etc. Be as specific as you can with your

rheummy. Your input is vital to your treatment.

I hope you respond tomorrow evening with a much brighter outlook!

thank -you for your kind words! I have kept no diary and although my blood test

is ok, I am not sure I can describe with words the severe pain I feel !! I will

let you know..ok?

Good luck!!Definetly write down your questions.  I keep a notebook now with

different sections including facts, questions and daily notes.  I'm not sure

about everybody else' experience but you may want to be prepared for some pain

afterwards.  I left the doctor 's first visit crying because he manipulated all

my joints and I felt like I just went thru the ringer.  I've only had this for 4

months and it's all new to me and didn't know what to expect at all.  I didn't

know anyone or have any advice or warnings and I would have like to be a little

more prepared.  I'm not meaning to be negative b/c good came out of it and the

follow ups didn't seem to be as bad.  I hope the best 4 you.  Paris

Dear Paris (what a wonderful name!!!!),

 

unfortunately, I am already under severe pain - especially wrists, shoulders and

angles - so if the doctor manipulates them I am going to scream !!!

That's exactly right. Write down everything you want to tell the doctor in case

you forget. I've also noticed that when I go to the pain doc or the rheumy, I'm

gonna hurt when I leave. This appointment I had yesterday, I wasn't expecting

it, and I should have been. I mentioned my knee was hurting, and so what does

he do? Examine my knee. I was like... Now, what'd you have to go and do that

for?

It hurt!
