Those are very good questions that you pose. Has he never prescribed

any DMARD's, such as Plaquenil or methotrexate? I'm sure that will

post some articles relevant to his situation. Why don't you go with him

to his next appointment and see what the doctor has to say. Maybe it's

time for a new doctor. He may be stuck in the Dark Ages, as my former

ophthalmologist was and whom I've ditched.

I'd say it's time he found a new rheumatologist.
