Winter skin

I get incredibly dry skin in the winter, so I wanted to share something I do on very cold mornings before I put on my gloves.... pour about 1T cooking oil into my palm, and add 1-2 t salt. I massage this into my hands (and often arms up to elbows) then rinse and pat dry.

Antibiotic Ointment

I use antibiotic ointment on my lips at night ( just before I go to bed), and on days they get chapped. The ointment base is white petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and if I use the one with pain reliever in it, it soothes lips already chapped by the cold. No it does not 'taste funny'. Why I like using antibiotic ointment instead of chapstick was I found that chapstick seemed to make my chapped lips more chapped! With this my lips are very smooth all winter through.

Thanks tink.

I am going to try this. I agree with you,

the more chap stick i use... the more i have to use it.

A vicious circle.

Yes Tink I have found that lip balm has seemed to make my lips more

chapped. I often get a small container and fill it with Vaseline and this

helps. Thanks for the tips.

Oh And the Maple Leaf ham I used to buy had 0 carbs listed on it.
