,

I don't know if you can find Teva sandals where you live or not but

they really help me. I wear the kind that have a heavy rubber-tire

like bottom and a strap over the mid foot and a strap over the arch.

Both straps are adjustable with Velcro. I find that sometimes this is

the only shoe I can wear comfortably, and even wear them in the

cooler weather with socks. Sometimes I have to loosen the straps

quite a bit, and having that ability to adjust them really helps.

Good luck. Olivanti

Hello

Wore my sandals this morning to go to the store. (OUCH). I guess I

won't be cool and comfortable this summer. Now my feet and ankles are

yelling at me! Does anyone else here have this problem? If so what do

you wear for the most pain free comfort?

Take care

I bought the new Sketcher Calie Gear Jane's that have a little velcro strap

for spring and summer. They came in black, bronze, or white. They are so

comfortable I am going to get them in the other colors now. I also hear the

sandals Crocs make are very comfortable. They have a cute Adara style out this

summer but since they are slip ons without straps, I'm not sure they are good

for us with chronic pain and RA issues. Some doctors say that flip flops are

really bad because the feet have to grip on to the shoe when walking and cause

more feet issues.

My doctor recommended New Balance and Saucony - Trigon3, (this is

light weight & is a running shoe, ha ha, even though we don't run)

but to ware them with orthotics. I've had different orthotics and

the one I got in 2002 (custom made and prescribed by an orthopaedic

surgeon) is the best still. It is soft, supports my arch and makes

my feet feel good. The podiatrist is totally against this type

saying that it is adding to my problems, but this is the only one I

can wear to walk any distance, shopping, and recently even in the

house to keep my energy. Somehow without the orthotics my feet ,

ankels, and leggs get very tired and drain the energy out of the rest

of my body very fast, leaving me very fatigued. With it I can go

longer. Go figure..

Hope this helps you.

I also got my orthodics from the Orthopedic surgeon. My orthodics

actually have metal plates on the bottom of them to prevent the

bending of my toe joints. This is suppose to help me get a few more

years out of them before I need to have another surgery (thanks RA).

They really are comforatble.
