Re: Adrenal support with steroid use

Hi group, I wondered if anyone was well versed in the issue of adrenal support.

I saw my OB today for my 37 week check up (baby is 6 pounds with lots of hair

and a chubby face!) and she's talking about putting me on a dose pack after

delivery. I've been on 1-5mg of pred throughout pregnancy. Most recently I've

been at 5mg b/c of some naughty RA symptoms in my jaw. Now I get a bit psycho

on high dose steroids. The last time I did a dose pack I got a bit hypomanic.

When I had my son (pre RA diagnosis, so no RA drugs on board) I had a post

partum mood disorder when I got super anxious and didn't want to be alone with

the baby. So, you can see how the last thing I want to do is combine high dose

'roids with post partum anxiety -- yikes. I explained this to my OB and she

said, ok, we'll start you at 40mg instead of 60mg. I thought I'd call my

rheum's office this week and see if she had any advice on the the adrenal

support issue, but I wondered if

anyone here had any ideas. Thanks tons, I'll keep you posted on all news
