hi Leanne,

I had to wean off my predisone to the current 5 mg and each time I did I had

pain but it was all over and every joint.  Each case is different.  I'm jealous

though....I can't sit thru a movie let alone a car ride that long and

forget about shopping!!  Hope you found something good!!!  Good Luck!! Paris

[ ] Is this typical of RA?

Hi.  I still don't have the definitive diagnosis, but I'm wondering if

what's going on is RA...

Yesterday morning I dropped my prednisone from 7.5mg to 7mg.  I'm

supposed to be weaning off.  Then I spent the day shopping, sitting in

the car for 3 hours to get there and back, and then a 2+ hour meeting

in the evening.  By the time the meeting was over, my right arm was so

sore, I could barely move it.  I had a terrible night because of it,

and still can't do much.  It's my shoulder joint and the muscles in

the top of my arm...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Leanne

Hi,

I usually hurt in symmetrical joints.. so if one joint hurts

the other does as well and prednisone took the pain away until I was

totally weaned off.. then I got another flare up. Also mine seems to

affect the smaller joints more often.. hands, feet, wrists, ankles and

now elbows.. but shoulders only hurt when I'm in a really bad flare.

But I can't speak for everyone my RA is a little cooky it took 17

years to get a firm diagnosis ;( (I'm 36 now).

Leanne,

I sure hope you get your diagnoses soon. The not knowing is hard.

Prednisone helps with many problems. Before RA, I took it orally

and occasionally shots for a herniated disk in my lower back.

I hope today is less stressful to your body and a better day for you.
