Guest guest
That sounds amazing! I am glad you are enjoying the class! Our Y offered them every week for $3 a session. I couldn't find one this summer, I'm thinking maybe the volunteers that teach them took time off for summer vacations. I'm going to check the artritis foundation website and see if they have classes in my area going on now! I wanted to do Tai Chi as I saw they offer them at University of Michigan yet don't offer them in my area! I've had hydro physical therapy and it was amazing but I really want to get in a class regularly! I finally decided to take the Arthritis Foundation swimming class at the local fitness facility. I started a couple of weeks ago and wow! The classes are held in therapy pools (ie. heated!) and are a series of gentle aerobic exercises. My joints feel so good after class and my muscles actually know I'm exercising! I'm going to get a membership and make a habit of it. I recommend these for everyone if you have them available to you. Many YMCA's and other facilities offer the classes. And, many places offer scholarships or sliding-scale fees if you have trouble with the financing. I might even try the out-of-water classes! :-)
Guest guest
Definitely try it out if you can . It's great! Funny, I want to try Tai Chi as well. It seems like it would be gentle on the joints yet build strength. :-) > > That sounds amazing! I am glad you are enjoying the class! Our Y offered them every week for $3 a session. Guest guest
Group, My local YMCA's offers a free class for MS patients but invites RA patients too. (You don't have to be a member) Just call your local YMCA. But you are right about scholarships. most YMCA pools are only heated to about 82 but you can ask the temp if u call. I borrowed a book from the library that has some great exercises to do in water and on land.
