They didn't > even bother to tell their patients! I went out of state for a specialist to do surgery on me. The contact PRIOR to going there was outstanding. I flew home a couple of days after surgery. My local doctor was suppose to be doing any follow up care needed, but the out of state doctor was suppose to call me 2 weeks after surgery to see how I was doing. Never got the call. In the course of things, I found out he had left the practice. Very long story short, I ended up in contact with his new staff. They claimed that he left without names of any of his patients, " he was refused the right to take any patient info with him " . Yeah, considering he left to start his own practice, wasn't fired, I doubt he left without any patient names. He did manage to have my name and address to invite me to his new practice, just not to do the follow up surgery call, and no one from the clinic where the surgery was done, took over his patient load and called me either. Before surgery, they treated me like I was extremely rich, afterwards, they didn't know my name. Darcy
Guest guest
That is just insane!! In her case, her potassium is so low, it messes up electrolytes and my (now her NEW) doctor said that's very dangerous that she could die! Then he found 2 heart problems and started her on nitroglycerin right away! I know if they are fired from the practice they can't really help it but when it takes 6 months legally to set up a new practice they had plenty of time to give notice to patients. The hospital I am treated at is huge and 2 of my rheumatologists let me know months in advance that they were leaving. It seems completely unethical what you and what she is going through at this moment! Mine actually was a few years back, but yes, it doesn't seem right at all. I wish there were some way of putting the bad doctors through what we go through to see if that would improve their attitudes! I hope your Mom feels better soon.
