Guest guest
Hi, I'm trying it but not the extreme that you are. I became a vegetarian and am trying to detox but still on Plaquenil and pain meds. Can you let me know what you are trying specifically? I went to a nutrionalist that figured out all my food allergies but I couldn't continue his program due to the cost and the supplements he wanted me on where far outside my budget. I do believe in what he does and can send you his website info. He has some studys that he has done with RA patients. He can meet with you remotely or at his office in NM. -Margaret On Wed, Sep 10, 2008 at 10:07 AM, pamnyznik <pamnyznik@...> wrote: > Hi! Guest guest
Margearet, Hi. I'm trying an Elimination Diet to find out which foods are affecting me, but I'm not off to a very good start yet. I know that the worst one so far is CHOCOLATE. My husband and I got into a major fight last night about me smoking and not working and I felt so bad I stayed up all night eating Chocolate Frosting out of a can! (Haven't been food shopping in a couple weeks and I couldn't find any other snacks.) Needless to say, I can't even move today, I am in so much pain - my feet, my ankles, my fingers and wrists - and my HIPS!!! Oh my gosh I can't even walk up the steps!! My hips have never hurt this bad. And my wrists - it actually feels like my blood vessels hurt in them! And I have such a horrible headache! It feels like I have a hangover! I know I have to just quit buying the chocolate, I'm too addicted to it! I'm going to try taking a couple fish oil capsules and see if they work. Well, I'm paying for my sins today, because my daughter called at 7:30 am to say she was bringing 2 year-old granddaughter over for me to watch today. I was under the impression she didn't need me to babysit this week. I didn't sleep all night - I was on the computer reading about RA again all night. I was just about ready to lay down when she called. I'm hoping I only have her till about 3 pm so that I can lay down a bit before my husband gets home and starts yelling about the shape the house is in. If you can offer any information that you learned from this doctor, like what kind of supplements he wanted you to take, we'd appreciate it. I know everyone is different, but it would be good to at least read up on them. I am trying to share what I know with the group. Thanks, Re: [ ] drug free RA healing approach ONLY! Guest guest
Margaret, I read on the internet that you can have an intolerance to a food and not be allergic to it. The intolerance will have milder symptoms than an actual allergy, but it still plays havoc in the body. Re: [ ] drug free RA healing approach ONLY! Hi, I'm trying it but not the extreme that you are. Guest guest
linda it's probably the sugar and the hydrogenated oil bothering you more than the chocolate. i use raw coconut butter and mix it with raw cocoa powder and some honey or agave nectar and it makes a nice fudge that doesn't hurt my joints. monique Margearet, Hi. Guest guest
, I just got a book, that has a lot of home remedies. What not to eat, and some of it's very interesting. I'm glad your trying to find out what's best for you. You are right, if would eat better, I think it would help so much. The problem is, giving up the food for me. It would be great to get paid to be on the PC. I'm sorry, it has to be RA, and not something more fun. I understand how you feel, and I hope things get a little easier for you. If I find something interesting in my book, I'll let you know. Good luck, Tawny > > Tawny, > Boy, you got that right! I've been reading web site after web site. There are so many different ways that food can affect us. I know I'm just scratching the surface. But I'm going to give it a try anyhow. I've always been intrested in this kind of stuff anyhow, I probably should have gotten into medicine, but my life just didn't work out that way. Well, this will give me my chance to do all the medical research I ever wanted to do and then some. Too bad I can't get paid for it! My husband would love that. I've been studying this stuff almost constantly for the last couple months. My husband and kids are sick of seeing me on the computer - all day and all night. Well, it could be worse, I could be out drinking or something, right? Not really. I don't have a car or the money or the ability to walk anywhere, so I'm stuck here anyhow. Might as well do what I enjoy, everyone else is... or did... all those years I took care of the kids while my husband went out - I thought I'd have a little " vacation " when I got laid off last year - yea right!! No money, no car, and a new pasttime - RA... what more can I ask for? > I think I'm ready for a nap, > >
Guest guest
I do something similar to . I get this wonderful organic, unsweetened cocoa powder from Frontier. I put a spoon or 2 in a cup, add just a couple drops of water and a spoon or 2 of maple syrup or agave. Mix patiently, and it turns into a nice, satisfyingly thick texture. This really satisfies my " need " for chocolate, doesn't hurt my joints and keeps me from going nuts and heading for a Hershey bar! Sometimes I mix in a little all natural, all-fruit (no sugar) cherry jam. Yummy! Guest guest
Hi Pam, Best of luck to you. I too did rigid diet control at first but it was too difficult to maintain for me. It did however make a difference in my symptoms. I started on Plaquenil about a year ago. I was too afraid of the disease progressing without it. Good luck, [ ] drug free RA healing approach ONLY! Hi! I am trying to heal from this horror by fasting, cleansing, detoxing and rigid diet control...was diagnosed last Feb. and refuse Methotrexate etc. Have some relly bad days, but wish to persevere... is there ANYONE out there who is trying to do what I am doing ???
