Hi,

I was treated last Friday in the ER for a possible duodenal ulcer :-(...

My next appointment with my PCP is next Tuesday, and so far the

nearest GI consult is JULY. The ER Dr said what I knew he would- " NO

NSAIDs. "

Okay, I know a bleeding ulcer can kill me and my aching, stiff joints

will not, but what am I supposed to do until next Tuesday? If my PCP

affirms the ban on ibuprofen/naproxen, and I have to go until July on

the wimpy old acetaminophen, I will end up in bed. I can't even put my

left shoe on like a normal person. Even on 1600mg daily ibuprofen my

left hip gets stuck, but the pain is much worse without it.

I am going to beg the PCP to give me Celebrex for the short term, but

doesn't that take time to build up? I also worry about the

cardiovascular effects, although I am not convinced it is worse than

other NSAIDs.I was Dx'd with a thrombosed (clotted) cerebral aneurysm

in 2004, so aspirin is a no go.

BTW- I just started drinking Supple®. Has anyone else tried this?

Thanks,

Carol
