ParkOhio is a manufacturing plant that produces rubber, silicone, and plastic molded components, systems and solutions to the automotive, industrial, commercial, medical, electronic, and consumer markets. While they are based in Ohio, they also have several facilities in many different states across the country. Where is ParkOhio located? ParkOhio is committed to providing each employee with the opportunity to access resources and programs that promote healthy living and personal and family wellness. In an effort to support their employees in their overall wellness, they are providing each employee and each of their family members (who choose to participate in their health insurance plans) three visits with a Registered Dietitian (RD) per plan year at no cost to the beneficiary. Park Ohio is also covering Preventive Physicals (with their physician) and screenings with their primary care providers at the 100% level. What insurance carriers participate with this wellness benefit? ParkOhio contracts with Medical Mutual of Ohio for their Ohio-based employees and Anthem for those in the other states listed above. How does an RD provide these services to the employees? The RD should become a provider (also known as being “credentialedâ€) with the insurers listed above, based on their specific location. This resource is currently only available to ADA members. Will the insurers accept a superbill for the RD services? No. The RD must be a provider with the insurers and bill for their services. Is the Park Ohio employee subject to a deductible or co-pay for the visit with the RD? No. The visits with the RD are not subject to a deductible or co-pay and are covered at 100%. What codes should the RD use for the visits? The RD should use the MNT codes: 97802 for an initial visit and 97803 for follow-up visits. Is there a restriction on the length of the visits? RDs should care for patients using ADA’s evidence based guidelines for each specific diagnosis and will be reimbursed for standard initial and follow-up visits, typically up to 6 units per visit. First, become a provider for the respective insurance carriers listed above (Medical Mutual of Ohio or Anthem).
