What is the benefit being offered to their employees?

ParkOhio is committed to providing each employee with the opportunity to access

resources and programs that promote healthy living and personal and family

wellness. In an effort to support their employees in their overall wellness,

they are providing each employee and each of their family members (who choose to

participate in their health insurance plans) three visits with a Registered

covering Preventive Physicals (with their physician) and screenings with their

primary care providers at the 100% level.

What insurance carriers participate with this wellness benefit?

ParkOhio contracts with Medical Mutual of Ohio for their Ohio-based employees

and Anthem for those in the other states listed above.

How does an RD provide these services to the employees?

The RD should become a provider (also known as being “credentialedâ€) with

the insurers listed above, based on their specific location. For a step by step

process on how to become credentialed with an insurance company, please see the

Billing Resource Guide at the following link:

http://www.eatright.org/members/billguide11/. This resource is currently only

available to ADA members.

Will the insurers accept a superbill for the RD services?

No. The RD must be a provider with the insurers and bill for their services.

Is the Park Ohio employee subject to a deductible or co-pay for the visit with

the RD?

No. The visits with the RD are not subject to a deductible or co-pay and are

covered at 100%.

What codes should the RD use for the visits?

The RD should use the MNT codes: 97802 for an initial visit and 97803 for

follow-up visits.

Is there a restriction on the length of the visits?

RDs should care for patients using ADA’s evidence based guidelines for each

specific diagnosis and will be reimbursed for standard initial and follow-up

visits, typically up to 6 units per visit. Find the Evidence Analysis Library

at: http://www.adaevidencelibrary.com/default.cfm?auth=1.

How will the ParkOhio employees find an RD in their area?

First, become a provider for the respective insurance carriers listed above

(Medical Mutual of Ohio or Anthem). Secondly, once you have become credentialed,

you can contact Amy , (Health Management Consultant) at

acox@... . She will be compiling a list of RDs who have become

credentialed with their insurers. She will share these lists with the employees

located in the various ParkOhio locations.

How will the ParkOhio employees know what type of services an RD can provide?

ParkOhio has worked with members of the Cleveland Dietetic Association to

provide “rack cardsâ€, a dual sided brochure sized informational card that

highlights the type of care a patient/employee can receive and expect from a

visit with an RD
