Guest guest
I've never heard that it clogs G-tube. Zinc deficiency is common in patient with diarrhea, malabsorption, or in hypermetabolis states (e.g burn). Usually they don't provide zinc supplement for pt. with wound, unless they suspect deficiency. Also, be aware that zinc toxicity can have adverse effect on wound healing and zonc can bind calcium and copper and reduce their availability for wound healing. Arginine supplementation (and overall enough protein) promote protein synthesis and therefore wound healing. You can check ASPEN guidline. ________________________________ To: Rd usa <rd-usa > Sent: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 8:42 AM Subject: Zinc and tf  I have been told by my pharmacy rep that zinc sulfate is known to clog g-tubes....what are you using instead to promote wound healing?
