I've never heard that it clogs G-tube. Zinc deficiency is common in patient with

diarrhea, malabsorption, or in hypermetabolis states (e.g burn). Usually they

don't provide zinc supplement for pt. with wound, unless they suspect

deficiency.  Also, be aware that zinc toxicity can have adverse effect on wound

healing and zonc can bind calcium and copper and reduce their availability for

wound healing.  Arginine supplementation (and overall enough protein) promote

protein synthesis and therefore wound healing. You can check ASPEN guidline.

I have been told by my pharmacy rep that zinc sulfate is known to clog

g-tubes....what are you using instead to promote wound healing?
