Global protest on the 26 April aganist Abbott. Planning meeing in Mumbai

Dear Friends,

A global protest on the 26 April to oppose Abbott's decision of withdrawing

registration of 7 products from thailand in retaliation to the Thai govt's

compulsory licensing on Kaletra and Efavirenz and other essential drugs. A

planning meeting is being organized by Udaan to discuss on the possible advocacy

and protest to be done outside Abott Laboratories in Mumbai.

We would kindly request your kind participation for this meeting to be

held on the 18th of April at 3:00 pm so that we can work out a possible strategy

for the protest on the 26th of April 07 at Abott Laboratories Agenda for the

meeting is as follows

1) Introduction to the purpose of the meeting - Udaan

2) Issue of compulsory licencing by the Thai Govt. - A Brief Overview - Lawyers

Collective

3) Possible Advocay Stategies & Sharing of whats being done the world over

4) Finalize action plan for the protest

5) Sharing of responsibility among the members.

6) Summing up
