Guest guest
Where are you in Texas? There are many in the austin area. 3 in the Temple Texas area....it all depends on where you are located and how far you are willing to travel. I can tell you that there is a nation-wide short of doctors in the field of rheumatology. In my area we have 5 rhematologist. One that is decent doc....but has seriously issues..and I would call a obvious high maintenance person. Three at a major medical center. I have not seen any of them...but I did see there Nurse Practioner...she was nice....but did not take care of my needs. One at a small medical center, that is suppose to be one of the best....but if you walk in with your arm falling off...he will treat your rheumatologic problem and tell you to see you family doc about that arm....As he told me he did not spend years in school and most of his time keeping up with the latest in medicine to be a family practice doc....he only treats rheumatologic conditions and that is IT! He also does not treat fibro...and in this area I know of NO rheummy that does treat fibro....they all refer to pain management.
