I lost my daughter LaSaundra due to heart problems associated with Charge Syndrome. I know how bad it hurts to lose a child, it is something you would never want to wish on anyone else. If there is anything at all i can do for you please dont hesitate to ask. My heart really hurts for you and the rest of your family. There are no words that can be said to give comfort at this time but know that all of us are here for you. Ally is up there now with all the Charge Angels and she will always be smiling down on you. But I did want to respond to your sad, sad news. I don't know if we have met, but I am Hartshorne, mom to , and Tim's wife. I am also mom to and Hartshorne, who died in a car crash 10 years ago. I wanted to let you know that you can and will survive this, although right now I am sure it doesn't even seem real yet. 10 years out I can confidently say that life is as normal as it can be again (well as normal as it can be with a child with CHARGE0 and that the sadness and depression that go with missing our children really only surfaces at special times like holidays, their birthdays, and the anniversary of the accident. This year was particularly hard as my son who was 8 at the time would have been graduating high school. We found much comfort in an organization called The Compassionate Friends. In many ways it is like this listserv, in that everyone shares their experiences and everyone listens to yours. It is a support group, and chances are you have a local chapter if you live in or near a good- sized city. I hope you will avail yourself of this resource. It literally saved Tim and me, all those years ago. I am so so sorry to hear of your loss, and know you have a very long road ahead of grief. But I am just here to say there is hope, and you will come out the other end, eventually. My heart is with you.
