of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN) announce the availability of the

recordings from the 2-day Food and Nutrition Webinar held March 5-6, 2012. See

Webinar was designed for dietetic interns, students and faculty in dietetics and

nutrition, and practicing dietitians and nutritionists. The purpose of the

Webinar was to communicate FDA's nutrition and regulatory activities that are

relevant to the practice of dietetics and nutrition.

The following list of topics was featured.

March 5th: food labeling, updating the nutrition facts, label claims, front of

pack, menu labeling, consumer education and research

March 6th: Infant Formula, Medical Foods, GRAS Food Ingredients, Bioengineered

Foods, Food Packaging and Irradiation, Sodium, Trans Fat, Color Additives,

Chemical Contaminants, Dietary Supplements, New Dietary Ingredients, and the

MedWatch Reporting System.

Twelve Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits were approved for the
