Sounds as though you have the humourously named 'sausage

finger'. I've had that before my right index finger). Ice

and heat may provide relief, but as with all our swollen

Reiter's joints, disease-modifying drugs to reduce the

inflammation are the best treatment. Your swollen finger is

a sign that you are currently in a disease flare.

My hands have been bothering me very badly the last few weeks.

I had to get off the MTX...kept getting upper respiratory infections.

Some days I wake up and my right hand is so stiff I cannot open it

all the way or lay it flat.. I thought this may be from using the mouse

too much. But now on the other hand my pointer finger is swollen badly.

I don't remember doing anything to it just it hurting a lot a week or

so ago. Has this happened to anyone else were one finger swells like that

and if so what did you do about it. Right now I am on arava only.

Sorry about the hand and finger, yes I too have had this in one of many flair.

You can go on prednisone, call your Doctor, and I have gotten a shot to get me

over the hump of the pain. Ice your hand. This is what I have done. Good
