Marilyn,

No one as ever asked me my status with academy membership. I would think the

only way to collect this data would be to compare those RDs licensed in a state

to the RD memberships in the same state. Or compare those with CDR eligibility

vs. membership.

RD's and DTR's who are not Academy Members

Dear Colleagues,

Does anyone have information about the number of RD's and DTR's who are not

cademy members, and retain their credentials? Is there also a breakdown by

tate of this information?

Thank you.

Here in Alaska about 50-75% of RD's are not members of the Academy. Not that

anyone wants to admit to it.

Perhaps this can be information that you could get from CDR? Since all of us

have to keep our credentialing up to date with CDR (of course) they would be

able to tell you how many RD's and DTR's there are.

Then if you can compare that with the Academy active membership, since some

people can be members without the credential such as students, and this new

associate membership.

Not all states licence, but when I was president of New Mexico in 2004, we had

about 450 licensed professionals and in the high 300's for ADA membership (I

think it was around 85% were members).

Choice #2 is the only way. CDR vs membership and I understand membership has

the losing numbers.
