Guest guest
I can't say for sure, but when my husband was diagnosed, his doctor sent him to a nutritionist who advised that saturated fat causes inflammation. In addtion, he recommended that my husband eat only organic foods, and only grass fed beef. He also recommended fresh pineapple as the bromoline in it is supposed to have powerful anti- inflammatory properties. My husband swears by it. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Welcome Newbie to this wonderful group of caring people. I found your e-mail interesting. What foods do you think caused you some problems? And, if you don't mind me asking, what happened to you? My best friend has Fibromyalgia, and she avoids certain foods that made her condition worse. I have RA, and I am 68, and was diag. 5 1/2 years ago. Learning so much about the RA from these wonderful people here. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, The foods that seemed to make me hurt were mainly RED FOOD DYE, cheese, cottage cheese, cucumbers, night shades veggies; Potatoes, eggplant, pineapple, and most citrus. My wrists would hurt like after 10 min. of eating these foods and I would have pain for about 24 hours or maybe 36 hours. With the methotrexate I am now taking (5 pills a week) I don't have that so much. I HAVE CUT OUT ALL DAIRY now and I think it helps some but it's only been 3 days so far. The book called NO MILK has convinced me dairy is not a good thing for me. Anyway, thanks for your interest. I wish you the best. Guest guest
i am trying to control my ra by taking foods out of my diet. my trigger foods are, caffine, milk, beef, potatoes, gluten, tomatoes, eggs. i am seeing a naturopathic and i read a good book called conquering arthritis, i think it was written by babara allen. she has a web site. her book was very pricey at $35 but very interesting. i think i could control my diet better if i had a better understanding family. Guest guest
Hi Lana: Thanks for answering my questions. I will tell my friend about these foods.. She does notice when she eats certain foods, she feels worse, and has lots of pain from her Fibromyalgia. Very interesting. Thanks again. Guest guest
I'm getting ready to start a 15 day elimination diet tomorrow on the advice of a Naturalpath physician and will report back on how things are going. I figure I've got nothing to lose - except for some inches off my waist! Amber in , CA > > > > I'm a newbie...I think I have found I begin to hurt when I eat certain > > foods. Guest guest
i am seeing a naturopathic doctor. she treats me good. i have been seeing her for about 6 months. i am thinkin, not because there is anything wrong with her but because she is the only naturopathic doctor ive ever been too, that i would try another natuopathic doctor just see if he or she has a different approach. she did inform me that if i couldnt get this under contorl she would have to put me on meds. im not sure what meds she is talking about. so far ive only been taking supplements and trying to control my ra with diet. it is pretty agressive. i was completely pain free once after not eating for 6 days, (i drank only water) i had no supplements during that time either. Guest guest
it just dawned on me what you meant when you asked how she was treating me. supplements. we've tried many different kinds. i have saved every scrap of paper and all my blood work since i have been seening her. i have a lot of bowel problems and this last time i went to see her she gave me supplements to help with that. they seem to be working and i was feeling better when i was in canada for 2 weeks visiting my daughter and her family. they made sure i pretty much stuck to a clean diet. chicken, vegetables and brown rice. i ate a lot of fruit and i snuck in some rice noodles to make chickn vegetable noodle soup. i just want to feel normal, what ever that is, again.
