Guest guest
I'm not sure if any of you use a service dog. Service dogs can be very liberating for people who otherwise might not be able to get out and do things. My dog is mostly for psychiatric use but somewhat for mobility. If you are disabled and you can find a dog that will perform tasks for you that will increase your ability to function in the world, you qualify. Also, there is no need to spend $30,000 on a professionally trained dog. I got my boxer/lab mix at the animal shelter for $85 and trained her myself. She is a fully legitimate working dog protected by the U.S. Dept. of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act. There's a lot of information on the internet about service dogs but I would be happy to answer any questions about them if anyone is interested.
