My son's father (age 61) has had RA for at least 15 years.... his hands and

feet are showing signs of deformity, and at times, he is in a lot of pain....

His rheumatologist has prescribed prednisone which he takes only maybe once a

month.... He also prescribed Arthrotec.....

Do they still prescribe Arthrotec as a form of treatment for RA? Why would a

rheumy not prescribe some of the newer types of DMARD's/Biologics???? I would

like to give him some strong information to take to his rheumy because I think I

have convinced him that he should be receiving treatment for his RA.....

The Arthrotec causes him GI problems.....
