Guest guest
Ok, so I'd been taking Soma since Wednesday for the back spasms I had and yesterday, the spasms finally let up. I come off the Soma, and am so shaky and messed up that I got benched. There's nothing worse to me, than having my partner and the love of my life, Rod, get to go out in an ambulance with someone else while I'm stuck in the dispatch center!!! I hate that! After a few hours, I was feeling better, so my director let me back out on the streets where I belong, but today the shakes are back. I don't tell him, and he doesn't notice, and Rod agrees not to say anything as long as it's not too busy and we're just " running transports " . That's basically taking someone from the nursing home to the hospital or the doctor's office to the nursing home, etc, and doesn't require me to do anything but take a medical history and sit there... We get off shift and I come home to find that my air conditioner vent is leaking water. Lovely. It's 98º and Rod wants me to turn the air conditioner off because he's afraid of a short and thus a fire. I tell him, " Well, if there's a fire, we're firefighters, we can put it out. " He doesn't appreciate my smart remark and I refuse to turn off the air-con, which leads to our first fight in 2 years. Ok, he finally agrees to let me have my way, (I'm the one who usually gives in, he's my care-giver and has just naturally taken the dominant role, which is fine with me), and leave the air conditioner on. Now, I've got to worry about why the darn thing is leaking water and get it fixed! Just what I don't need to worry about when I'm supposed to have a skin graft tomorrow! As if that's not trouble enough, one of our search and rescue members told me that his dog that went on an international search with me and my dog about a month ago, has some disease he apparently got while on this search and will probably die from it and Ricco might have it too. More lovely...
