Guest guest
, Call an ophthalmologist immediately. It sounds like SCLERTIS. Your PCP and/or rheumy will not be able to diagnose it. It needs to be done by an ophthalmologist. *~ Kami ~* [ ] Problems with My Eye Hello everyone! I've never had any problems with my eye..except one time I got conjunctitis due to allergies. I woke up yesterday with the most painful left eye. I thought perhaps I had a scratch on the eyelid close to the lashes. I've been keeping a cold and warm compress on it. Today I woke up and the eye is inflamed near the inner corners and is a purplish pink on the lower inner rim..Has anyone had anything like this? I am going to the walk in clinic but cannot go until later this afternoon so am just resting and keeping a cloth on it off and on. It's quite painful and atleast today it has more of a symptom (which Im not sure is a good thing) but yesterday was more difficult to tell what was going on. Guest guest
The actual eye looks fine if one were to see it...it's the actual skin and inner part of the rim of the bottom eye and the upper part of the lid. I don't have a sty..yet I do have two tiny almost microscopic cyst type bumps along the lashline. The eye dr saw those awhile back and forgot to remove them. I've had them in the past and they went away yet these two have not yet. It has something to do with the oil gland..so I'm hoping thats what this is..the eye is dry, hurts when i blink, light hurts it, and it itches like crazy but hurts to touch the inner corner near the nose. I'm on my way to the walk in in the next few minutes so hopefully they can see something if not I too will be heading to the eye dr!! Guest guest
When my husband had a bad eye infection, our optometrist took care of it. He gave my husband eye medicine and also an oral med. The meds cleared it up quick. Debbie L > > , > > Call an ophthalmologist immediately. It sounds like SCLERTIS. Guest guest
I just got back from the ER. They took amazing care of my eye. They did a really thorough exam to make sure there was not any injuries to the eye or scratches and to make sure everything looked good. They used eyedrops similar to what my opthamologist uses. It's exactly what I thought it was when researching on the internet. The gland that is under your eyelid to provide the eye with lubricant has become infected (most likely a gland blockage as well). I have an antibiotic eyedrops to use every 4 hours, hot compresses to use and am to clean the eyelid with baby shampoo diluted with water!! It should be better in a couple of days but I have to use the eyedrops for an additional 24 hours after to make sure its all gone! Thank God not anything too serious:) I'll be glad to finally take my sunglasses off as the light is killing my eye! Guest guest
and group; I use to get many stys when I was a kid. Put hot compresses on it. And no matter what don't try to sgueze it if it is a sty. Keep your finger off of it. Your hands carry more bacteria. As soon as I get a sore red bump on my eye, I start the hot wet compresses and they go away quickly. I hate stys as a kid they would get real bad cause I kept rubbing and scratching my eyes. I keep my bedding very very clean because of this. Growing up with a family of 10 kids the pillow cases was not the cleanest. By the time mom changed them at the end of the week you can just imagine lol. I hope you get it taken care of real soon Steph. Eye infections are so painful. Eye pain is unbearable to me anyway. Please let us know what it is. Keep us posted about your eye. gentle kind hugs everyone Clora >

Guest guest
and group; Thanks for keeping us posted . I am glad you went to the ER. I had an eye injury. Its ruff what they do to your eyes when they clean it. Did it hurt when they worked on your eye or was there something they could give you for the pain??? I bet you feel a lot better now. gentle hugs Clora > I just got back from the ER. They took amazing care of my eye.
