Hi Jan,

Sounds like you missed my last email?

I went through the whole protocol. WITH YOU, with multiple consults, in Feb

2006. And you did a great job guiding me, and I found it an interesting

experience--you have a huge and extensive (and impressive!) knowledge base. Yes

I used the wrong terminology earlier reds/yellows vs protocol--forgive me, this

was years ago and my memory gets fuzzy.

After following the protocol--yes, the whole LEAP protocol--I saw no change in

symptoms, and did only the green foods longer but so no change. In fact,

according to my old files my symptoms #s got worse, I imagine perhaps because of

the stress of the changes, but who knows. Long term, through lots of trial and

error I did realize that squashes bothered me, but everything else was a

wash--quite a few of my green foods I now know are are among my worst triggers,

and many of my red foods aren't. I discovered that through a variety of

elimination diets, which were ultimately more helpful to me.

That does not mean that LEAP doesn't have value, or that it doesn't help many

people. The purpose of my posting to begin with is that the position seems to

be that LEAP has few false negatives/positives and helps everyone/almost

everyone and is superior to other allergy tests. I can categorically say, for

me (and of course, a subject size of 1 is teeny tiny) that wasn't at all the

case.

So I am intrigued by the protocol and I did even buy the training and planned to

do it. Then I saw how little response I had, and between that and the lack of

studies it's kept me from investing the time to become a CLT. I'm open to seeing

where things go and reading the studies a few of you have put together. It also

concerns me that genuine questions seem to be regarded as attacks rather than

(to my ears or eyes,) simple interest. We all learn by questioning, and there

is nothing I appreciate more than an inquisitive client.

I have referred pts to a nearby colleague who does LEAP because we reached a

point where I had no tricks left in the bag, so to speak. As of yet, none have

followed up and done the testing, which is a bummer--I think that would be

informative.
