Guest guest
Hey all! I have been on MTX 7 weeks now and up until I doubled my dosage to 20 mg a week, I was doing well.... Here are the issues. I need someone to tell me that this WILL get better as my body adjusts to this medication because I am seriously turning into a MAJOR beotch day 3 after taking meds. Weeks 1-4 10 mg a week-no major problems other than fatigue Week 5 20 mg a week... went well Week 6.... 20 mg taken 4 in AM, 4 in PM Thursday.... No problems other than um.... MAJOR mood swing problem on Sunday.... Week 7.... 20 mg taken all together in PM.... Um yeah... I am seriously ready to jump out of my skin and either yell or cry depending on what sets me off..... I was at the doc Friday. 3 more weeks at 20 mg to see if I get any relief plus he is adding Humira. I had my PPD placed on Friday and as of today, no reaction so I guess it is a go for the Humira plus bloodwork. I will fill the Humira before my appt on the 10th and have nursing instructions that day. Also, he wants me to spread my MTX over 24 hours.... 3, 2, 3 3 thursday NOON, 2 thursday PM, and 3 more Friday AM. He feels that will help the " peaking and valleyeing " I am going through. I also am very forgetful and absentminded on this medication....... I think it is dumbing me down.... Seriously. I hate saying that but that is how I feel..... I am just looking for some reassurance here... PLEASE tell me this is somewhat normal? Thanks! *~ Kami ~*
Guest guest
Hi Kami: I just wanted to say hello, and sorry you are feeling that way. Mtx pills made me so sick to my stomach, so my Rheumy has me do injections each week. I take .80 on the 100 needle, and only have slight nausea the day after. I have had RA for 5 1/2 years, didn't have the reaction to MTX like you, but I take a RX for anxiety. Maybe that helps. I hope you will feel better soon, as it is no fun feeling like that. Wishing you pain free days, and I hope you will feel much better soon. I know it takes awhile for meds. to get into our system, and do their work. I have been on MTX.,Pred.,Leucovorin, from the beginning. 1 1/2 years ago she added Placquenal,Sulfasalzine. I hope this info. helps you. Hugs, Barbara > > Hey all! Guest guest
I did not notice mood swings, but my husband claims I have them all the time. I really don't know if it's me or him. (lol) I take MTX injectable also (full 100) because of what the pills did to my stomach. I also have anxiety issues that were increased by the prednisone which also increased my blood pressure. I also have Enbrel, placquinel, actonel, synthroid, zetia, ... > > > > Hey all! I have been on MTX 7 weeks now and up until I doubled my > dosage to 20 mg a week, I was doing well....
