Guest guest
Hi, My name is Lois and I was diagnosed with RA about 2 weeks ago. I was a bit upset with it because I have watched my mother's 20 years of experience with this and I said " no way " . I had been working in the yard and after a couple of hours my hands swelled up like balloons and I thought a spider bit me so I went to the emergency room. I am not typically a nut to chase the medical profession down for every little thing I get but this scared me. I was really believing a spider bit me. When I went, the ER doctor looked at my hands and said I believe that you have RA. I went to my family doc because I really respect his knowledge and care and he too said that he believed it to be so. He sent me for blood work, and so be it. I have now put my big acceptance hat on and am just making every day the best I can make it. I have also bought ACAI juice and full pure Vitamen E at the health food store, which I read on the Internet as being helpful for Ra. I also have a rare spinal cord disease which has caused me to stop working about five years ago. I am wheelchair bound and limited in my once complete availability to do lots of things that I enjoyed. I now just keep on keeping on, despite this. I must do the same with RA. I am glad to find this group and would love to hear the advise, knowledge, experience and suggestions that can be shared. Here's to a great day, Lois
