Guest guest
I take Neurontin for neuropathy and it never made me feel crappy...maybe a little drowsy at first, but that went away quickly. I only take 900 mg a day and I know many take much higher doses so perhaps at a higher dose, you could experience problems. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Melynda Gamez Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2008 12:34 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: Does anyone have experience with Arava? Nuerontin too. Doreen, I've had some success with Arava taking it the past few years. Side effects may be edema. I control that with diuretics. Wondering about side effects any of you have had with Nerontin though. It makes me feel crappy! > > I went to my rheumatologist yesterday and he recommended Arava. Guest guest
I also take Neurontin but only 600mg daily so it doesn't make me feel crappy either. Does make me a bit dopey so can't drive after I take my first dose. It also makes me a bit drowsy, too. Don't have neuropathy that I know of or Restless Leg Syndrome. Guest guest
Been offline for awhile so apologize for late response. Now that i;ve been on the Neurontin for a couple of weeks the nausea went away but still feeling pretty drowsy on 900 mg. daily and getting tremors, feel shaky on it. The next step will be Lyrica. I'm still in pain and still having neuropathy. Suz (susan) > > > > I went to my rheumatologist yesterday and he recommended Arava. I just > > wondered if anyone had any experience with it. Guest guest
I've been on Leflunomide (Arava) one tab daily since 12/13/06, Humira once evey two weeks since 08/04/04 and started Lyrica 75mg twice daily for Neuropathy since 06/26/08 along with other meds for RA, Osteoporosis and Hypertension. So far no side effects that I know of from any of them and doing fairly well holding back the progression and discomfort. I've never taking Neurontin. Best of luck finding what works best for you, it's a real trial and error type of deal or has been my experience since 2003. Guest guest
I've been on the 900 mg of Neurontin for over 2 years - the pain and the neuropathy have never gone away. The best I can say is that I regained some strength in my leg and can walk without assistance. I don't believe it ever actually goes away. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of susanraeburdick Sent: Monday, July 07, 2008 12:28 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Does anyone have experience with Arava? Guest guest
Judy, thanks for your post I'm hoping Lyrica will be more effective than Neuronton (Galabentin). I also have pulmonary hyptertension. Has your doc related it to your RA or the meds? Guest guest
Dorothy what do you attribute to regaining your strength? The meds? Did you exercise?
