Even when someone has an illness and you are aware of the possibility of death, it is still so difficult to lose someone you love, especially a parent. I will keep you and your husband and your family in my prayers. Please let me know if there is anything you need.

Works quite well, unless the pain is extremely bad. I do experience lightheadedness and often the day after using it, I develop headaches. Still, the relief is worth it. I also take one called Hydrocodone, with about the same results. E-Mail: mailto:tabco@... Guest guest
hmmmm one every 6 hours well I get one every 3 hours not a good thing huh? mood change . . YUP allot of bitterness Re: Going Away Has anyone tryed Oxycocet? Its another name for Percocet,Tasha, I hope this helps!!! Oxycodone is the narcotic in Oxycocet & Percocet. It is considered a combination drug, and the other drug in it is Tylenol also known as Acetaminophen! Here is a web site that may help you.... http://www.SafeMedication.com/displaydrug.cfm?id=262 Acetaminophen and Oxycodone (a set a mee' noe fen) (ox i koe' done) Other Names: Percocet, Roxicet, Roxilox, Tylox OTHER NAME: APAP and Oxycodone Why is this medication prescribed? This combination of drugs is used to relieve moderate to moderately severe pain. This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. How should this medicine be used? The combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone comes as a tablet, capsule, and liquid to take by mouth. It usually is taken every 6 hours as needed. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take acetaminophen and oxycodone exactly as directed. Oxycodone can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take it more often, or for a longer period than your doctor tells you to. What special precautions should I follow? Before taking acetaminophen and oxycodone, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to acetaminophen, codeine, oxycodone, sulfite, or any other drugs. Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking, especially acetaminophen (Tylenol); antidepressants; medications for cough; cold, or allergies; other pain relievers; sedatives; sleeping pills; tranquilizers; and vitamins. Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had liver or kidney disease, a history of alcoholism, lung or thyroid disease, prostatic hypertrophy, or urinary retention. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking acetaminophen and oxycodone, call your doctor. If you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking acetaminophen and oxycodone. You should know that this drug may make you drowsy. Do NOT drive a car or operate machinery until you know how this drug affects you. Remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug. What should I do if I forget a dose? This medication usually is taken as needed. If your doctor has told you to take acetaminophen and oxycodone regularly, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. What side effects can this medication cause? Although side effects from acetaminophen and oxycodone are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away: dizziness lightheadedness drowsiness upset stomach vomiting constipation stomach pain rash difficulty urinating If you experience either of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately: difficulty breathing mood changes What storage conditions are needed for this medication? Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication. What other information should I know? Keep all appointments with your doctor. Too much acetaminophen may cause liver damage; do not take more than 4000 mg of acetaminophen per day. Do not let anyone else take your medication. Ask your pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription. **this drug can not be refilled without a hard copy prescription..... (prescription in hand)! Because this drug is a Schedule 2 Narcotic... this is the same drug class as morphine or demerol** Trademark, Disclaimer, Copyright© 2000 American Society of Health-System Pharmacists 7272 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814 301–657–3000 Just wanted to know if there was a difference.I don't find Oxycocet is just another "trade name" for the combination drug of Oxycodone & Tylenol. This drug I found out last Sunday (06-25-2000) is one of the FEW pain medications I can take.... so you won't hear anything bad about this drug from me. Just be really careful when taking this medication, because it contains Tylenol, and too much tylenol (like if you take the percocet with additional tylenol) you can become tylenol toxic..... and it can kill you, it is a VERY PAINFUL DEATH! Here is another site to look at about this drug.... it is many FAQs, with the answers below... http://www.druginfonet.com/faq/faqpcet.htm I hope this is of some help to you. I would love to stay here and find more places for you to look, and I will if you want me to a bit later. I can get most any drug information... between being a paramedic & a PAIN IN THE ASS, Patient that looks for answers to my own questions when I don't get the answers I want or enough of the answer.... I will talk to you all later, have to go out and kill off someone, because my allergies are all set off, and I want to scream!!! I am tired of having my allergies set off, by just breathing, and minding my own business!!! Guest guest
Hello Aureen, I'm sorry to hear of your father's ill health. I'm very curious where you are going, it sounds the ends of the earth and I don't blame you for staying awhile following the ordeal of getting there. The baby will be fine, but at 3 Kel could barely make a trip to Florida (about 1 1/2 hours--and this was *before* OCD arrived to complicate things.) You will need an activity bag the size of Texas. BTW, don't they have the Internet on the other side of the world yet? :-) This list will definitely miss you. Kathy R in Indiana p.s. Guest guest
Kathy, Louis, Jule, Nikki, , Thank you for your kind and thoughtful wishes. I have enjoyed being part of this list of very caring and sharing parents, and wish I could contribute more, but it has been a busy year for us, with all four of our parents having major illnesses these past two years and young kids to care for at the same time. The collective experience of parents on this list is far far more than I could ever offer. Thanks for your wishes for my father--it was sad that he spent his 80th birthday in the hospital (his surgery is on the 13th). Yes, a 30-hour journey is not one most people make too often. My parents live in Mangalore, a small town on the south west coast of India. Climate: Hawaii-like, and I cannot wait to get out of this deep freeze here. We were last there 2 years ago, so I am looking forward to spending some time with my parents (they have not met my 1 yr old son Ethan yet). There is internet access in the town, but not at my parents' home, and getting an account is apparently far more involved than it is here, so I'm not counting on it. Kathy, Happy Birthday to Kellen--hope she had lots of fun just like a little girl should on her birthday. Ironically, , my 3 year old is a very good traveler. It's Ethan that will turn the rest of my hair grey. He's very busy and persistent--I have visions of him running down the aisles and demolishing the food carts (he is entirely capable of it). I think if I have a Benadryl bag the size of Texas, I could skip the activity bag As for activities, I am aiming for the one-piece type, so we're not picking up pieces from under everyone's seats...... Louis, I am glad your wife is doing well after her thyroid cancer. I have read that the prognosis is very good for younger people, so I hope she will continue to do well. My dad was 78 when diagnosed, and now has an enlarged prostate, diabetes etc, but he still has his fiesty spirit and is a fighter, so we are hoping that will carry him through. Take care, Aureen Re: Going away > Hello Aureen, I'm sorry to hear of your father's ill health. Guest guest
HEHE yes im back. The weekend was nice. We went camping on Salisbury MA. Hung out on the beach. Ate marshmellows( bad diabetic lol) and cooked out. Snuggled in cause it was so darn cold. The ground was hopelessly hard and we got almost ZERO sleep. But it was pretty romantic. Sitting at a fire, snuggling. yes it was pretty wonderful. Melinda At 08:39 PM 5/21/01 +0000, you wrote: > > > > > > Hello Fellow list Members, > > > I am going away for the weekend. . .
