Hi Colleagues, Family and Friends,

We can never be too careful about having solid passwords that computer

hacker programs can't easily decode OR about how much of our info gets shared

with social networking. Some valuable info here. Please do take a moment to

read; log in; and protect yourself and all those you communicate with!

Thanks! Jan Patenaude

LinkedIn and Facebook can use your picture, your name and your posts in

their ads. Unless you are OK with that, you need to change your privacy

settings in each social media to protect your image, name aka brand,

posts, likes. Your picture, name, posts, likes serve as advertising for

a third party using your public LinkedIn or Facebook information. Make

sense?

LinkedIn:

1. Log into LinkedIn.

2. From your home screen, click drop down box next to your name in

upper right corner and click settings.

3. Click Account in the middle of the page

4. Click manage social advertising

5. Uncheck box that allows LinkedIn may use my name, photo in social

advertising

6. Click Save.

Facebook

1. Login to Facebook

2. In the upper right corner, click on Account

3. Click on Account Settings

4. In left column, click Facebook Ads

5. In Facebook ads, click edit third party ad settings

6. In Ads shown by third parties, choose either:

1. Only my friends

2. No One

7. Click Save changes

8. Screen will return to Facebook ads, Click on edit social ads settings

9. In Pair my social actions wiht ads for, choose either

1. Only my friends

2. No One

10. Click Save changes

Hope this helps.

> Colleagues,

> In June, LinkedIn changed their privacy settings to default which allows

> MySpace is similar in that your photo and name will appear on pages of

> music, video and content you have on your page.
