I joined this group before I was diagnosed. I knew what I had but my

doctors wouldn't give me any for sures. I saw a rheumy a few weeks ago

and even though my R Factor was negative she believed I have RA.

Surprised I was not. Anyway, I am now taking celebrex and Meth

something or other folic acid. I am supposed to be taking something

for pain but it doesnt help. Now I have new things going on with me.

I get really week in my legs and arms. I am typing and now I am

tired. Sitting in a chair is even hard. It starts to hurt my hips and

legs. I feel like I am falling apart. And when do you call the

doctor. I don't even know anymore. The pain is not really bad unless

have a flare. And now my kids are going to go to school this year and

everyone is telling me oh now you can get a job. HA HA HA. People

just don't understand. Amina

I would suggest calling your doctor. One of the things I really appreciate about

my doc and her office is that I can call anytime I'm having a flare and even if

it's just that they'll listen and sympathize, it's worth the call. Especially if

you have an RA doc who diagnosed with without the RA factor (like mine did),

they are more likely to be open to any call regarding your symptoms. It's also

helpful for them to document every time you are having symptoms, so in the

future if they need to send medical records to have other treatments approved

(like injections or infusions), it's right there in writing that new treatments

are medically necessary.

Hello, and welcome to this wonderful group. I am sorry you have RA, and

I know just how you feel. I have had it for 5 1/2 years, and it

overwhelmed me too. I had never heard of it before, and knew nothing

about it. I was so scared, and felt all alone too. You will be so

happy you joined this group, as we all know what you are going through,

as we have all been there before. Lots of support here, great

information too. I hope you will be feeling better soon. It takes

awhile for the MTX and other RA meds. to start working, so don't get

discouraged, just take one day at a time. That is what I do. I have a

wonderful Rheumy, and she is so caring and smart, she is there for me

always. I love that about her. Wishing you pain free days. I am glad

you are in our group.

Hugs

It's going to be OK. It's hard when you try talking to your spouse

or friends about how you feel, especially with a chronic pain

condition. It's nice to talk, vent, cry with someone who understands

what you are going through. This web board has been a great help

with my support system.

Talk to your rheumy about treatment options that are best for you.

Everyone is different. Sometimes, it's trial and error to see what

medication regimne you need to be on. You are not alone. Welcome to

the webboard.

Hello. I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with RA. I feel like I am

hanging out in the wind. I have gone to a couple of websites that my

rheumatologist reccomended and I have talked with my husband and

friends but I feel like I am all alone.

Welcome to the group. There is a fantastic bunch of people here. We

will all listen to how your feeling & doing. It's easy to feel " out

there " because the greater population seems to think of RA as just

regular arthritis & everybody has it. Many do not realize or think

there's a difference, but we know better. We are here for you.

I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago and I know exactly how you feel.  People assume that

because you look well, that you are feeling fine.  This is a very isolating

condition.

kmitch,

Welcome to the group. You are not alone, that is one thing that I learned

as soon as I joined the group. Everyone here understands the physical and

mental pain you are experiencing. It is important to have someone to go to

that can say, I know, that can offer a virtual shoulder, and to just be here

for you. You have found the right place to be.
