Guest guest
TAwney and group; Yes, I was dx with DDD many years ago. I should tell my RA that too. No back surgery for me. Everyone I know that had back surgery is still complaining long after the surgery. A lot of people talk about how they forget too. I can't think of simple words a lot. I read it was the hippocampus in the brain. Where our remembering part is. I will write all my questions down for the doctor next time so I don't forget what to ask. I had a pretty good day yesterday. I have pain patchec for my back. The only problem is getting some one to put them on for me. You take care Tawney. Now I don't mind my name up there since I know Its not because I done something wrong. I put up Clora feels better. Gentle hugs Clora > Clora, > > Glad your feeling better after the humira shot. Guest guest
Clora, I'm like you, no back or neck surgery for me! I just deal with the pain. I can't stay on the PC long, my neck and shoulders starts hurting so badly. I have a hard time remembering things. Its really embarrassing too. I think the meds plays a part of it, but not all. I just feel so stupid, my family just stares at me, when I can't think of a word, during a conversation. I took my humira last night, and I have less pain today. After being off the med for 5 weeks, I can tell it works. I take mtx tonight, not looking forward to it. But, if it helps, I'll take it. I hope you can get someone to put your patches on. My youngest one helps me with stuff like that. She is a gift from God. You take care of yourself, and know your in my prayers. Guest guest
Tawny, So glad to know that your pain is better today. It is wonderful to have meds that work! I was blessed to have a fantastic neuro-surgeon to do my cervical spine surgery. (It didn't hurt that he is young, handsome and has an outstanding bedside manner.) He told me if I didn't have the surgery an auto accident or a fall and I could be a quadriplegic. I didn't like the thought. I had it in May and thus far, no regrets at all. Now, if the rest of my body would co-operate! I hope Doreen wasn't teasing about putting my name on the list. Shirley > > Clora, > > I'm like you, no back or neck surgery for me! Guest guest
I'm very sorry that you are in so much pain, . The safest thing to do would be to check with your rheumatologist. Guest guest
, Please, check with your rheummy. Mine told me if I did get sick I would need to stop the Enbrel to take antibiotics. I'm sorry you are in pain, hope you feel better soon. Guest guest
Melynda, Its so nice to hear your feeling better. Having surgery is very scary for me. I've heard many horrible stories, but there are people who are doing fine. It would be nice, to go one day without neck pain. My neck is very limited, and its scary. Guest guest
, I would take a break from the enbrel, until your sinus infection clears up. I'm so sorry your in so much pain. I have been off the humira and mtx for 5 weeks now. I started the humira last night, and the mtx will be tonight. I had two cysts removed, and I'm clumsy, so I'm always running into things, or falling, causing open wounds. Having a sinus infection does happen on the biologic meds, that is the down side of the med. Contact your doctor though, Tawny > > Does any one know if it would be a problem taking my enbrel shot I am on > amoxicillian for a sinus infection Please let me know I in a lot of pain and > the pain pills are not helping right now > > > > > > -------Original Message------- > > >
Guest guest
Tawny and group; I can't stay on the pc long either. My neck and back starting hurting so bad it's intolerable. I been doing the neck exercises and its starting to help some. I know my memory is shot. My husband or someone else will finish a sentence for me haaaaaaaaa. I would say for example; I need to fix my , hu hmm my a what you call it. Huband will say your stuffed cabbage. I will go yes yes. We would have talked about it early that day and he knows what I want to say. I am really embarrassed when I do it in my chatroom on paltalk. My members would finish the sentence for me. They are really understanding, about 5 of them would say or text DSYLEXIC. I would have that word on the tip of my tongue. I would discribe the word and than everyone will text it. Like a word game haaaaaaaaaa. I am alergic to MXT. It broke me out in red itchy hives. No one could put on my pain patches today. I put it on my lower lower back, below my waiste so my son n law can't put them on for me. I would let him but he is to embarrassed haaaaaaaa. I worked in the medical field and a butt is nothing to me. My husband works all day on Sunday. My daughter has Mersa and she is weak and tired from taking care of an infant. I am going to feed and change my grandson so she can get a few hours sleep tomorrow. Maybe she can put them on before I start. Thanks for asking. I agree our children belong to God, God is entrusting us to teach and love them. How old is your daughter? My babies are 24, 34 and 36. They will always be my babies no matter how old they get. gentle hugs Clora > Clora, > > I'm like you, no back or neck surgery for me! I just deal with the > pain. Guest guest
Clora, Sorry no one could put the patches on for you. You made me laugh, about, " butt " is nothing, your so cute. You always lift my spirits. Sorry the mtx don't work for you. There might be some other med to go along with the humira that might work better. But, if your doing OK on the humira now, you might just wait. I hate taking the mtx, I went back on the pills,(I was on the injection), and it makes my tummy sick. Now, I just make sure I get to bed after taking it. I woke up one night, and was throwing up in my sleep, and I was swallowing it, nasty I know. Sometimes, I use the rice sock for my neck, while I'm on the PC. It does help quite a bit. My family fills in my blanks, lol I get up to do something, and forget what I'm going to do. It makes me not want to leave the house. Sometimes, my oldest daughter will talk about something that happened in the past when she was little, and I have no idea what she is talking about. It makes me feel bad, and like I'm a bad mother. Do you live in SC? Have you heard of CTU? Well, I better close for now. You take care, and have a good night, Tawny > > Tawny and group; > > I can't stay on the pc long either. My neck and back starting > hurting so bad it's intolerable. Guest guest
Melynda and group; Awe Melynda, what a sweet person you are. I get through the day when I get my pain patches on my back. I love to read your post. You are such a caring person as many others in the group. My son n law had back surgery. It has been a year and he is still in agony. He has a hard time getting pain medications for it too. I guess its cause the doctors are afraid to give out narcotitics. My dad was so healthy up to the day he died. He passed at 73. He had congestive heart failure the same as I have now. But he stayed so busy and was so healthy. gentle hugs Clora > > hi clora & tawny, first of all i want to say clora i hope u feel better soon. today is an o.k. day for me a lil pain free. yesterday was a > different story,PAIN BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!! i was reading about the neck, back surgery. i to will NEVER b able to have that done & > my pcp was thinking about it, i said there's no way i can have that done with all that i'm dealing w/right now.. i've friends that > r physically fine yet they had to have back surgery now they r WORSE off than just dealing w/the pain.. i guess some people r just lucky. god bless the both of u,melyndagamez 9/21/08 >

Guest guest
Tawny, ?Thanks for the advice ya this stinks that we can't take our meds when we get sick so we have to suffer and get rid of one thing to get back to being able to function on the other. Guest guest
, You will learn a lot here. I hope mostly that we care for each other and try to help if we can. Always remember that remission is possible. Several of the members here are in or have been in remission. That is my goal. Sweetie, I truly hate it that you have a disease. It isn't the end though. I have learned what is important and what I thought was important are not the same thing. For this I am thankful. Like you most of us do not look forward to cooler weather. I hope this year will be better. I love the fall colors though. Such a masterpiece! Hopefully you will be better really soon and you can resume your meds.
