numbness, doxycycline

Hi all! I don't post very much to this list but I do read when I get the

chance. Anyway, I was treated for Lyme disease several years ago with IV

antibiotics. My pain symptoms were joint pain, numbness, and a weird brain fog

which is common with late stage LYME. ANyway, I was off all RA drugs while I

was pregnant and for six months after and was lucky to have had no pain except

pain that normally come with pregnancy. Last month the pain came back with a

vengeance, and I also developed numbness in my arms and face, and occasional

shooting pains in my feet and toes (definite nerve pain, not joint or muscle).

One time it was on just half of my body, I thought I was having a stroke. I

assumed the numbness in my arms was from carrying the baby, but that wouldn't

necessarliy affect my face. ANyway, the doc reran all my bloodwork since it had

been months since I was on any medication . Of course my LYME tests were

positive since they always will be but he decided to treat me with doxycycline

for a month since numbness was a symptom before. Ididn'treally like the dea but

he said that some people take doxy for RA so it would probably help the pain

either way, and I have to admit that it is. Makes me wonder as always whether I

acually have RA, chronic LYMe, or some mix?

ANyway, the question is: does anyone have numbness with RA (I am seronegative)?

DOes anyone take DOXYCYCLINE for RA? What are your experiences? I was treated

with Plaquenil before and did well with it.

Thanks!

Liz
