Hi Syndie,

I had to start a new string I get too confused when they get long. I

absolutely love my Rhu, my internist, and I used to love my pain DR but am

pissed at him. He left his group to start his own practice and left several

people hanging and not able to get refills for med. His old practice refused

to give out his number. I got it from someone on the Fibro line who happened

to get a card from him. I called and he will not be open until mid Aug.

Thank God for my Internist, she agreed to cover any meds I needed until he

opens up. I really liked him and will still see him but I will also tell him

what a **% & *#* mess he left his patients in. I also started seeing a

Cardiologist and he seems great as well. They are all in practices attached

to Vally hospitals. If there is a Valley group near anyone, give them a try.

They are all great.

Having worked for a doctor, he probably didn't want to leave his patients in

such a mess and I'm sure he would have loved to have told his patients he was

either going into business for himself or with another practice, but the

contract he signed when he first went to work for the group he was with does not

permit this. He would be sued if he did, so have a little compassion for your

doctor.

I've had three doctors leave a university practice and I was always given

advance notice at my last visit so I would have three months to be set up with a

new one.  My mom recently had this done to her by her doctor and she has a

health issue that is life threatening.  She was not even given her test results

on what they are monitoring.  I was told by a friend who is my doctor that it

takes 6 months to start up a new practice legally so patients should be given

some sort of advance notice. If something happens to my mom before she gets

those lab results her doctor couldn't be bothered giving her before leaving, and

it results in loss of life, you can bet this doctor will get the pants sued off

of them.  They have a responsibility for their patients.
