Hi Kim!

I read this really great article a couple of months ago..I am posting it here..I

think this is the one that was pretty in depth about flares (I read so many of

them I try to save them somewhere on my pc but this is the only one I could

find)

I've been curious about this for awhile. When my inflammation &

swelling are noticeably worse, along with exhaustion and pain...I call

it a flare. Even if that's only for a day or two.

But do *you* consider that a flare? How do you define a flare for

yourself? What has your doctor told you?

I'm interested in your answers.

Flare up

I looked it up on . discribed a flare up as more severe than usual

and lasting longer. They wer'e referring to asthma flare ups. A flare up for RA

I am guessing, would be lasting longer and more severe than usual, however; I am

looking forward to what the others say a flare up is.

I would say what you are calling a " flare " is a flare.  I say I am flaring up

when the pain/inflammation/ etc breaks thru the meds and gets worse.  Usually

requires tweaking to get back under control.

hi i consider a FLARE 2 b when u can't even get out of bed by yourself.

yesterday was sooo BAD.

i could not use my body at all my hub had 2 literally lift me up from bed & turn

my legs I HAD NO CONTROL OF MY BODY!

IT SUX! the pain & inflammation were soo bad u could soo

see the difference. i was swollen, tender 2 the touch & my joints

were very hot!!! popped pills & rested! good luck & god bless,
