Melynda,

I think no matter how old you are when your parents pass, you still

feel like an orphan. Jan. will be 15yrs. for my daddy and Feb. will be

9yrs. for my mother.

I am so blessed that I still dream of them very often. I thank God

that I get to visit with them in my dreams.

I heard a great line in a movie once....it was a Batman movie of all

things! Robin asked Alred if his parents were gone and he replied yes,

a log time now. Robin asked if you ever get over it, Alfred

replied...No, you just get on with it. I'll never forget that line.

I know yesterday was a sad day for you. I pray that your heart will be

filled with joyful memories.

God Bless you,

Shirley

Wow, Shirley - you have hit the nail on the head! I had a so-called

friend tell me once that I can't be an orphan as that was something

reserved for children. Well, she is totally wrong. I lost my father

in 2002 and then my mother in 2004. I am an orphan - an adult child

who has lost both parents. And it is something that we never get over

- we just get on with it - just like you said. I miss my parents every

single day. Especially when this disease becomes overwhelming and I

just wish that I had my parents around to comfort me. When I want to

be the child who is told that everything will be alright.

Melynda, my prayers are with you as well, that you are able to

celebrate and be grateful for the time you had with your parents and

take heart in knowing that we will all meet again. God Bless.

Doreen :)

Doreen,

I am so sorry that you no longer have your parents with you. I know

how hard it is.

I think I miss mine most when I want to share good things with them.

Those good things are missing the people who loved me most and would

be the happiest. And of course, my Daddy brushing my hair back and

kissing me on my forehead.

God Bless,

Shirley
