Guest guest
Yes, if it is arthritis, or any type of inflammatory arthritis, mobic, an NSAID will not be enough. DMARDS are needed as soon as possible, and in some cases a pain medication. I've been having troubles where I cannot stand or walk at all. I take Plaquenil, Sulfasalazine, and Mobic (I think Diclofenac worked better for me and it was 50mgs twice daily instead of the 15mgs once a day of Mobic). They took me off of it though because I have a liver disease. I cannot bear weight on my feet, and can barely walk or move them. I phoned my doctor as I don't go see her until June 2nd, luckily that's getting closer, but today I was stuck in bed with an inflamed and swollen stiff knee. I hope that they start you on med soon. It can take 6 months for a DMARD to build up in the system and work properly. I can tell you though that it works better than nothing. I used to not think mine were helping, and I had to stop the Sulfasalazine due to bronchitis for 3 months and I thought I was going to die. It helped more than I thought:) Deb N <deb38n@...> wrote: I ahve been on Mobic for over 2 weeks. It is not helping me. My hands and wrists have been very painful for the past 3 days. My third and fourth toe on my right foot have been cramping up especially in the morning. Today when I put my feet on the floor I could not bear my own weight. After a bit and I tried again my left ankle hurt so bad I could not walk well. I am so glad work cancelled my first four hours. I am so tired and I can't perform simple tasks at work with out it causing me pain. I have a Dr's appointment June 5. I think I am going to call tomorrow and ask for a referral to a rheumatologist. I hate not feeling well all the time. I am out of sick tome at work. I have had 3 horrible colds this winter, I have not been that sick in a long time. I am thinking this is all related and it is getting worse and worse very rapidly. My hands are the hardest, I need them to do my job effectively. I know I could not do CPR on a patient if necessary. I am so frustrated!
