Guest guest
Hi everyone I have a annual flu shot but also have had a pneumonia shot (it's a 'one-off' shot) which is worth considering by anyone with a compromised immune system. I had the pneumonia vaccination about 3 years ago, after developing pneumonia (from a chest infection turning nasty) while on mtx. As you can imagine I was sick for about 8 weeks! For healthy people a single pneumonia shot will last their lifetime, but I think autoimmune disease sufferers need to get a refresher shot now and then. Guest guest
I just received my first Pneumovax on Wednesday. Both my PCP AND rheumy suggested that I have this vaccination repeated in 5 years. My PCP will start administering the flu vaccinations on the 15th and he suggested that I come in that week for my vaccination. What is a " one-off " shot? *~ Kami ~* [ ] Flu Shots - and pneumonia vaccination Hi everyone I have a annual flu shot but also have had a pneumonia shot (it's a 'one-off' shot) which is worth considering by anyone with a compromised immune system. Guest guest
I plan to get my first pneumonia shot this year. Insurance usually doesn't cover it unless you're a senior I believe, but due to my RA, I was told I'll be covered for it. Not to mention that I'm getting closer & closer to senior every day!! _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Harnett Sent: Saturday, September 06, 2008 5:09 PM Subject: [ ] Flu Shots - and pneumonia vaccination Hi everyone I have a annual flu shot but also have had a pneumonia shot (it's a 'one-off' shot) which is worth considering by anyone with a compromised immune system.
