Guest guest
Hi Phyl! Thanks for the info. It is obvious fibro is used to describe other illness then and isn't really a disease in its own right. Just a description of symptoms it seems. For those not born with a genetic condition it still seems that Fibro is diagnosed when Chronic Lyme is not allowed by definition to exist! The problem is when you say there is no such thing as Chronic Lyme you are left with no way to diagnose the disease except by catch all names like Fibromyalgia! > [ ] Lyrica > > Hi Guys, > Okay, I have Stickler Syndrome, was born > with it and a common side effect is fibro. > I started taking " Gabasomething " which > my insurance covers and is supposed to > work like Lyrica. Guest guest
Fibromyalgia is general pain that really has no reason but doesn't respond to the medicines we take for our joint problems etc. The change for me with the Gabapentin is huge. Where I've controlled my joint pain to some degree I've always had the " other " pain. This new medicine for me makes a world of difference. I can now take a walk and get bitten by a tick haha. My ex has " dementia " . That's another word like fibromyalgia. The doctors have no idea why my ex is being weirder than he already was but they use this catch all word that means they don't have to check for alzheimer's or low oxygen during surgery etc. I think there are a lot of words in medicine like these two just to make doctors feel smart and us to feel like they know what's happening to us.
