Sorry to hear your family doesn't understand what you are going through, and the pain you are having. Sure do wish we " could get over it, and not be sick and in so much pain and suffering " . There are lots of people out there that just don't get what we are dealing with every day. I am sure that is very hard for you.Thank goodness you have your 2 wonderful dogs. I know they know what you are feeling.Animals can sense that about us.It is good you can even take them out for a short walk.Pets are a great source of comfort. You can say whatever is bothering you, vent and talk here when you want to.We all care, been through it all, and sure do understand.Hope this helps you.I care, and wish you pain free days. Guest guest
Hi Crystal, A newbie here myself. I empathize with you, especially about the " no support " part. It's hard. I am isolated--at one time by choice, now it seems to be by necessity. I have no family support either-a mother (87) who just doesn't " get it " (I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease, bursitis, chronic pain, tiredness, depression, etc., etc.), and a son who virtually ignores It/me, maybe in the hope that It/I will go away! I just received a Disability Award. That means I'm " disabled " - which means I can't work, do things I used to do. I feel my son and his family don't trust me to be around my twin granddaughters. It hurts! Please feel free to vent to me at any time. Barbra --- In , " crystals_zoo " <crystals_zoo@...> wrote: > > Hi there, newbie here...need support system. Guest guest
How long did you have to wait before you were awarded Social Security Disability? Did you have to hire a lawyer? gentle hugs! Marcia in Western New York State

Guest guest
Hi, No I have no friends either. I've managed to alienate any friends I had because of depression. At one time, it was my choice not to be with people--now it has become a necessity! I am reluctant to " plan " anything with anyone--even what family I do have--because of the unpredictably of my fibro and pain, tiredness, depression, etc. I am glad I found this support group. I saw a message asking how long it took to get Disability from SSA. I don't know if it was directed to me, but it didn't take very long at all. Just about 3 months, and, no, I didn't have to hire a lawyer. I was rather surprised. I think being thorough with your answers and having been sent to an osteopath and psychiatrist who understood what was going on with me (by SSA) was a great help.
