Question on MTX and combo drugs...

Hi Everyone,

I was taking plaquinil 2X daily, and MTX (3pills once a week - 7.5mg),

and now my doctor said to stop the plaq. He said he just wants to see if the

MTX works alone. But, the last time I stopped the plaq ( one week after

starting MTX), I was in a great deal of pain at the end of the week. I started

the plaq again, and the pain subsided a great deal. Now, however, I've been

on the MTX for 6 weeks, so my rhemy wants to see if it will work alone. Is

that normal? From what I read, most people are on more than one drug?

So, if the pain starts again, should I ask about Enbrel (sp?)? I could

restart the plaq if the pain starts again, but I've been reading that

everyone is having such good luck with then Enbrel drug.

Any suggestions? I have to get my energy level up so I can restart work

in September, and I just started to feel good when he took me off the plaq...
