Guest guest
Lovette: I and some others (dentist has told me of others) have had the same problem. I actually have to be very careful that when I yawn that I do NOT have my head turned to either side.........just straight ahead. The first time it happened I panicked.....couldn't swallow and was very painful. I have found that if I stay calm and just " wiggle " my windpipe back and forth that it will " snap " back into place. My doctor's have indicated that it is just a flukey thing that happens and that there is no need to be concerned. I do not feel it has had anything to do with my Lyme disease and neither have they. Don't know if this will help put your mind at ease???????? just my experience. Mona
Guest guest
HELP!! Last night, I was feeling really achy, so I took 1 Motrin [200mg]. Soon after that my throat seemed to become dry and then paralyzed! I moved my trachea a little to get some feeling back and it seemed to move out of place and then back again. I had to sleep sitting up because I couldn't swallow when lying down, although I could drink water. What is happening???? Lovette
Guest guest
Dear Mona: Thanks for your response. But in my case, I do think it has to do with the lyme disease. It seems that my brain and nerves play tricks on me! I spent much of the day in the hospital taking a barium swallow test - all is okay, which is why I am suspicious that the lyme is once again at work. Guest guest
I think it was me that brought up the drainage into the throat with my daughter. She never has drainage out of her ear so we posed the question to the doctor could it be draining down her throat instead. He thought it was possible but we didn't really explore it any further. Candy > hey, i remember reading a post ages ago, someone asking about their > ear draining into their throat? i think someone told them that it > couldn't happen (maybe i'm dreaming) but when i was at my doctor > today, he told me thats what's happening to my ear. it's something > to do with the eardrum that was drafted from muscle when i was > younger being perforated and leaving a big hole at the bottom of it. > that makes a direct connection with my throat meaning my ear drains > into it. not good with all those infections and hell if you catch a > cold! anyway just thought i'd tell whoever it was, if anyone said > that in the first place, that it does happen. > kate
Guest guest
Hi, If you go over to Google, and choose the option of searching through IMAGES..type in eustachian tube..you will turn up many great illustrations. It seems logically possible to have " dripping down your throat. " Technically it looks like the eustachian tube connects the nasopharynx (back of the throat up by the sinuses) to the middle ear. If anyone has ever had post-nasal drip they often notice(as I have) that they get a sore throat. So, why not have dripping down the throat? Though, it sounds gross when you think of the smelly discharge you get out of your ear.Yikes! What a bummer. cj
Guest guest
> > My 4 year old's tonsils are almost touching, they are so swollen. Yesterday she was coughing up green phlegm. She feels fine, nothing even hurts. But my dh panicked and told me to take her to the dr. today. I did, and he did a swab and said she " probably " has strep, but it could just be allergies. He wants me to start antibiotics and he'll let me know in a few days if it's strep or not. If it isn't, we can stop the meds. I don't like this idea. Anyone know of natural remedies for this? She can't really gargle. > ==>. Yes, natural antibiotics are much better than antibiotic drugs which are toxic/poisonous. I recommend increasing her nutrition with good mineral-rich bone broths, good healthy soup, Bee's Egg Drink, etc., lots of warm moisture in the air she breathes, and also give her one of the antifungals I recommend; if you look up each one they will state which one(s) help strep; I don't recall which ones do - I'm having trouble navigating and typing on this laptop so I'm sorry I can't look it up right now. My article on Cough, Cold & Flu Treatments will help you with treatments. If she has had strep in the past this could be a retracing symptom as well, in which case the swab will be negative. Let me know what her test results were. Luv, Bee
Guest guest
NEVER take any antibiotics because a doctor says you " might " or " probably " have something. That's why many of us have this problem with candida in the first place! When my wife and I had strep, we used Bee's treatments and were better within 2 weeks. It takes a little longer to cure yourself naturally, but at least you won't do damage to your body you'll have to pay for later! We did the garlic/ginger tea, as well as clove tea (each 4X per day). I also took some oil of oregano and lots of chicken soup/bone broths... and probably a few other things I can't remember because I'm having a brain fog day! Oh yes... and we increased the supplements as Bee suggested... mega doses of vitamin C and shark liver oil, as well as B-multis. The treatments are in the files. Guest guest
For 8 years I took two puffs daily of my pulmicort and had a constant sore throat. One day I just decided to try one a day as opposed to two. It took a few weeks but now my sore throat of years is 90% better. Tom Does anyone experience throat problems? I feel like my throat has a rubberband around it most of the time. I am getting ready for sinus surgery again next week but this is a real worry, and doesnt feel like it is caused by drainage. Your thoughts/expereince would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Reg Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch "Cooking with Tyler Florence" on AOL Food. Guest guest
From 1993 to 2004 I would experience a tightness in my throat and sometimes a sensation of heat on the right side of my throat. It turned out to be hyperthyroidism and the enlargement of the thyroid was actually reducing the diameter of my trachea. My problem was that my thyroid was seated so low in my chest that the problem wasn't detectable by manual feel or x-ray. You may want to make your ENT aware of your tightness sensation and for the period of time that you've been experiencing it. -----Original Message-----From: samters [mailto:samters ]On Behalf Of wkapikornSent: Tuesday, May 27, 2008 5:48 AMsamters Subject: Throat Does anyone experience throat problems? Guest guest
Thanks, . I saw the dr today (pre-op) and she wasn't concerned. So maybe after this surgery, I will be checked by another specialist . . . and on and on it goes . . . Guest guest
Good luck with everything and if you need to have your thyroid checked a simple ultrasound should do the trick. I sure wish that there had been an Internet back in 1990 when all of my problems first started. Not that it would have provided a cure, but it would have made me a much more informed patient and "Knowledge reduces Fear!!!" Throat Does anyone experience throat problems? Guest guest
If it helps the internet was not really around then...and in the early stages you might have had only a short community of opinions where as today you have a much wider spectrum. With people being more informed, hopefully it will accelerate advancements. Guest guest
I really appreciate the members, support, and guidance everyone provides. This is truly a blessing! I discovered today that one of the side effects of Tramadol is throat swelling and I've been on tramadol for over a year. It is the ONLY thing that will stop my coughing. Thanks again, for all your suggestions and just for being there to "listening." Guest guest
I was wondering this also. Sometimes it feels like it's hard to swallow a little also. Do you have this? I was also wondering if this could be thyroid related. My blood work showed I was growing thyroid antibodies though my thyroid stimulating hormone is still okay. I was wondering if I was developing Hashimoto's disease also. I have Sjogren's syndrome secondary to the RA now. Anyone have any thoughts on this? [ ] Throat Anybody have to clear their throat a lot in the morning with r/a? I notice it is usually just in the morning when I wake up. The afternoon it seems clear. I'm asking my rheumy about it when i see him next but heard this could be a side of r/a. Hugs..a ************ ** It's only a deal if it's where you want to go. Find your travel deal here. Guest guest
Hi all...well, to make matters worse, I have full dentures (caused by my r.a and sjogrens..) and that is a whole new experience. I can wear the dentures for about 2 hrs and then they start to feel like one big ole dry piece of plastic in my mouth. So, that's always fun to deal with. Eating is quite the experience too. I don't go out to eat like i used to...it is too much of a struggle it seems. Anyway, in the morning, the first thing I do is drink my coffee with cream. I don't know it the cream affects my throat or not..but I am constantly clearing my throat or it feels like there is phlegm in the back of the throat. I'm sure the SS doesn't help either.
