Guest guest
Hi everyone, Been spending all my non-babysitting time researching RA. I came across a post on another news group that grabbed my attention and made me think. It seems a couple people are linking their RA with flu shots received. When I thought about my own case, this was also true for me. The bank I was working for last year was giving out free flu shots, all you had to do was sign a waver to get one. That was the first time I had ever had one. I don't like taking unneccessary immunizations, I don't trust them. But my sister who was working with me at the time talked me into it. Sure enough, just a few short weeks later is when I started having horrible wrist pains and such bad pain in my feet that I couldn't even let them touch the ground when I sat down for my breaks. The pain got so bad that I thought I had broken my foot and ankle somehow without knowing it. Now I'm developing full blown RA. Can anyone else here remember getting a flu shot before developing the RA? Just curious. I'm going to tell the rest of my family not to take the shots anymore, just in case. Guest guest
I didn't have that problem with mine getting a flu shot. I received my health issues long before I agreed to get those shots. Now, my rheumatology clinic gives flu shots out every year to avoid making those with RA sicker by getting the flu From: gonetoday <gonetoday@...> Subject: [ ] RA and Flu Shots Date: Saturday, September 6, 2008, 12:20 PM Hi everyone, Been spending all my non-babysitting time researching RA. Guest guest
I got my first flu shot 2 years after I first developed symptoms so it would be safe to say that it definately wasn't a trigger for me. Mine is probably triggered by mineral dust & stress, I also very recently found out that a cousin in the UK has it too, so a touch of hereditary maybe ? I plan on getting the flu shot every year from now on. Sharon of OZ > Hi everyone, > Been spending all my non-babysitting time researching RA. Guest guest
and group; OMG, Flue shot causing RA. Could it have been a coindence. I have gotton flue shots every year for the last 10 years and a pnemonia shot what every 3 or 5 years. When my dad passed away in 99. I was so stressed that everything came out 10 fold. Fibro RA, depression, headaches, IBS. I have been Ill ever since daddy passed. I am ok now but the illness's I have to cope with. I never realized grief can hurt your body so bad. So there are many things happen to us when we take anything it seems. I never got the flue because of taking the flue shot I am sur of that. With my lung disorders I would be in serious trouble with a flue shot. My daughter begs me every year not to get a flue shot. She gets the flue and I don't. Or It is not as bad. I just dont know, it seems like everything we take can have serious side effects. I did get pneumonia last year. I ask my doctor " how can I get pneumonia, I took the shot. " He said. " It dont always work. " I was so confusied as I am now haaaaaaaa. gentle kind hugs Clora > Hi everyone, > Been spending all my non-babysitting time researching RA.
