Rita, I am not sure if this helps you out, but I was diagnosed in Febuary and

was not put on Plaquenil until 2 weeks ago. My RA wanted to run a series of

blood test on me first/heart disease test/kidney/liver funcion etc before

putting me on any prevention medication. Hope this eases your mind a little.
