Guest guest
Hi everyone, First I would like to say thanks to all who have responded to my questions. It helps a lot! I had my follow up appointment with the pain management clinic Monday. My bloodwork was good. My xrays showed spurring in my hips, shoulders and left hand. Nothing in the joints that bother me so much. However, the rhuem. said he wanted to see them himself as the radiologists are looking for fractures and cancers and such, whereas he looks for subtle changes to indicate RA. He also sent a message to the pain man. dr. to tell me that if I had a flare up or in any way got worse to call and he would see me before the six month follow up that I am scheduled for. For now, my diagnosis is osteoarthritis, with suspected RA beginnings. He gave me anti-inflamatory patches and cream to try, as I can't take those by mouth due to stomach issues. He is also putting me in physical and occupational therapy and prescribing some kind of deep tissue therapy machine to use at home for the muscle spasms. I am not on any medication for it, including pain, but I am supposed to stop taking aspirin. I would like to hear anyones thoughts on this, as I am just beginning on this journey with the medical commmunity. Charlotte
