Brand New to You.. and a Brand New R.A. sufferer Hello... Micki ( ) Koban here... After about a year of searching, testing, etc. I have managed to find a doctor who is 99.9% that I do have R.A. I am currently on Pred. and something called " Azulfidine: Have been told to expect wonderful ( not!) side effects with the Azul. But I mainly am feeling euphoric here as every test was coming back normal.. and M.S. runs on my father's side of the family. Just wanted to say Hi! Guest guest
Hi Micki, Welcome to the group.I hope you find this group as warm and helpful as most of us do. Are you negative for MS? If so that indeed is wonderful. Guest guest
Hi Micki and welcome to the group, So sorry about the diagnosis. You'll find lots of support and information from this group. I have only been a member for a short time, but have gained so much knowledge and support. There are a great bunch of people here from all over the world that will listen to whatever you have to say and give feedback as well. I was diagnosed with RA a little over 2 years ago. It took the doctor almost a year to figure out what was wrong with me. Unfortunately, mine is a particularly stubborn form of RA so it's still not under control. In fact it seems to be spreading again. Each day is a struggle but you just take one day at a time and hope for the best. I don't post often, but I do try to read everything everyone else posts and it truly is wonderful to see and feel the warmth and caring everyone conveys. Sorry, I'm rambling. LOL! I just wanted to welcome you to the group.. Have a great day!! [ ] Hello.. Brand New to You.. and a Brand New R.A. sufferer Hello... Micki ( ) Koban here... Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome!~ Shirley Well, so far she says is going to rule out M.S. She is still running tests, but it appears I fall into the 20% group of R.A. that do not show it in my blood panels. I have a bad ankle/foot and a herniated disk also... she is checking my older MRI " S to see if she can determine if I may have had R.A. for years, undiagnosised. She is basing the current on the fact I had one sed. rate of 52.. and then several others that where a high normal. But my G.P. had me on 800 mg. of ibuprofen so.. But this time it's my hands.. they where stiff, sore, odd things going on with single fingers( like I'd have my hands/fingers out straight and all of a sudden one would drop and try to touch my palm) and my hands/wrists up to midway between my wrists and elbows are unusually warm. I have been having alot of cramping ( charlie horse like) in my legs and hands too. But as I am type II diabetic.. so that also plays with the cramping bit.
