Hi Cinde,

Just keep looking for another spa to join. Yes, the pool IS great!

I love it, and I love my jet tub!! Do you go to a rhuemy? You

probably do, and it sounds like you know how to control your

symptoms...I'd be really really bad without my meds. I take

methotrexate (5 per week). No prednisone or anything else. I'd LOVE

TO GET OFF THIS MED, but if I do I literally can't open a door, a

jar, or put any pressure on my fingers. It's so painful. Anyway, I

wish you the best.

Welcome to the group! Everyone here is very supportive, caring, knowledgeable

and keeps us updated with great studies and updates on treatment! You are

sooo lucky that the spa and hot tubs manage your pain.  I'm 36 now and have had

FMS since the age of 26 officially diagnosed at 30 and disabled by then with

inflammatory arthritis (seronegative) by the age of 32.  I'm on DMARDs to slow

the progression and meds for the pain of FMS/MPS, and the seronegative

connective tissue issue.  I'm in huge trouble if I skip a few days of meds.  I

have one that I have to quit taking every time I get an infection (which has

been constant since september.)  Hot tubs and pool hydrotherapy is great for us!

The Artritis Foundation offers pool classes if you contact them at

www.arthritis.org they have information..that might be a good option:) Good luck

and welcome to the board

Hi Everyone,

My name is Cinde and i'm 47 and was diag with RA about 8 yrs ago. I

did not like any of the meds and just joined a spa then. I was

overweight but as long as I did the pool and hot tub, I never needed

any meds and the pain was just not there. The spa closed (just my

luck) and now the pain is comming back. I'm sore all over, Tylenol

Arthritis helped my knee where its better now. I really want to do w/o

meds if possible. I can't believe how well the pool and hot tub did.

I'm looking for another spa now but in so much pain. Nobody

understands since they see i'm fairly young but it hits hard. I take a

hot bath and soak and that helps awhile. Anyone else have advice that

is going through this? Thanks and good luck to all, I feel and know

your pain.
