I find too that the fatigue is also the hardest part of the disease, indeed, it

was the first symptom that sent me looking for help.  Do ANYTHING you can to

work around the fatigue...keep the disease properly controlled, pace yourself,

use sleep aids.  I find the psychological aspects of the fatigue the hardest to

deal with....it gets soooo depressing.

Hi,

For me, the exhaustion is the most difficult part of having RA. I find that even

a short rest

during the day helps. I also make it a point to get 8-10 hours of sleep a night.

I know it

may seem like a lot and hard to do but it really makes a big difference. Are you

waking up

at night because of the pain? This may also contribute to your exhaustion. It

might help to

talk about a sleeping aid with your MD. Lunesta helps me a great deal when I

can't sleep

well.

Best of luck!!

Hi :

I have been reading your posts, and know how very tired you are. It is so

frustrating, and hard to deal with. I am sooo happy you and your Hubby were

able to go out and have a nice time together, as well as a few drinks. How

great was that!!!! For me, I find the tiredness very frustrating, to say the

least. Our bodies are at war with itself, and it takes so much energy to do

this. I believe this is what makes us so tired, plus, being in pain takes a lot

out of us. So, between these two things, it is no wonder we need to rest so

often, etc. I had 2 separate Dr. appts. this week, 2 hr.. trip each time, then

did some shopping on the way home. Needless to say, I spent the weekend mostly

in bed!!! My feet were so painful, and I was just beat. Today I am much

better, but I was glad I had a few hours of fun shopping. " Pay now, or pay

later " , is so true. We all need some time to be " US " , and enjoy the moment. I am

glad you and your hubby could have

" your moment " together. Being in pain, is so very exhausting, making us so

tired all the time. Hard to deal with most days. I am glad you get your much

needed sleep most nights. Praying you will have some pain free days.

Hugs,

Barbara

I did enjoy the party and then me and hubby actually went out for a couple of

drinks after, it was nice. And then Sunday, slept in and then took a 5 hour nap,

it was wonderful.LOL I take 1200 mil of Neurotin at night. She wants me to take

this much because I have so much pain at night, and it does help along with pain

pill. Do you think this is why I am tired all day ?

Thank you so much for your encouraging responses. And I guess that is the key to

all of this, enjoy, rest, enjoy, rest. As for drinking on my meds. I do on

occassion. I have been a beer drinker for years. (not able to the do the hard

stuff). Family,Friends, backyard BBQ's and beer..Now I do limit myself, but thats

okay...Feeling okay today, my hands are really giving me fits and typing seems

to be rough, but I am looking forward to a nice 4th tomorrow, and I dont have to

be me till Tuesday....wishing all a wonderful and pain free holiday...  :)
